Operation of Branches & Cafés during Typhoons and Rainstorms - General Reference for the Public
Typhoons
When typhoons affect Hong Kong, the following arrangements will apply:
| Announcement from Observatory | Action to be taken |
|---|---|
| Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted before business hours | Branches & Cafes will be closed on that day |
| Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted during business hours | Branches & Cafes will be closed 1 hour before Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted |
Rainstorms
When rainstorms affect Hong Kong, the following arrangements will apply:
| Announcement from Observatory | Action to be taken |
|---|---|
| Black Rainstorm Signal is issued before business hours | Branches & Cafes will be closed on that day |
| Black Rainstorm Signal is issued during business hours | Branches & Cafes will be opened as usual |
Closing and re-opening of Branches & Cafes *:
| Announcement from Observatory | Action to be taken |
|---|---|
| Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 or above/ Black Rainstorm Signal is cancelled before 2pm | Branches & Cafes will be re-opened 2 hours after Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 or above/ Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is cancelled, weather conditions permitting |
| Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 or above/ Black Rainstorm Signal is cancelled after 2pm | Branches & Cafes will be closed |
